GRANTS TO TEACHERS

1.   Smart Kids, Smart Teachers w/Smart TechnologyStacy Clarbour – Longfellow Middle School - ($999.99 fully funded)

            This grant will fund an interactive SMART Board.  The kids can take virtual field trips, show presentations, engage and participate in their own learning experience as they continue their journey to become technology experts.

 

2.   Almanacs newer than Ben’sJohn Daniel Nolan – Norman North High School - ($120.00 fully funded)

            Funds for this grant will purchase twelve (12) world almanacs. 

 

3.   Discussing the EssentialsMelanie Wilkinson – Irving Middle School - ($125.00 fully funded)

            The grant request will fund the purchase of a copy of Ron Clark’s book The Essential 55, for every seventh grade homeroom teacher.  The books will be used for discussion through homeroom time once a week.

 

4.   The Sky’s the LimitTeresa McIntyre, Amy Radtke and Dynah Pittard – Norman North High School - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

            Two hundred and eight (208) copies of the book October Sky will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  The novel is a powerful and versatile tool for teaching content in addition to building vocabulary and reading comprehension.

 

5.   When Are We Ever Going To Use This???LeAnn Chastain – Whittier Middle School - ($87.78 fully funded)

            This grant will fund the purchase of four (4) books of real world math applications in order to better help students understand how they will use, outside the classroom, the math they are learning in the classroom.

 

6.   Activate Algebraic ThinkingCarrie Lowe – Irving Middle School - ($128.35 fully funded)

            Students in the math resource room will be able to explore and formalize patterns, verbalize relationships, make generalizations, work with functions, and make connections between real world situations and algebraic statements.  Algebraic thinking will be activated through the purchase of a set of number and operation tiles, a set of table top number lines, and an interactive integer game.

 

7.   Graphic Novels: Sneaky Tools for Teachers!Jamie Johnson – McKinley Elementary School - ($805.45 fully funded)

            Graphic novels will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  The term “graphic novel” has been defined as “a self-contained story that uses a combination of text and art to articulate the plot.”  Graphic novels feature sophisticated language and story lines.

 

8.   Bringing It Into FocusSharlene Kleine – Longfellow Middle School - ($744.26 fully funded)

            This proposal provides funding for three (3) NASCO Standard Stereo Microscopes.  The microscopes will primarily be used by the 6th and 8th grade science classes to observe plants, rocks, and minerals.

 

9.   I Can’t See, What Does It Look Like?”David Jacks and Susan Reed – Irving Middle School - ($700.00 fully funded)

            A flex cam will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  A flex cam is a video camera that will attach to the school microscopes so that the students can view findings on the television screen.

 

10.    Learning the SMART WaySue Swenson – Monroe Elementary - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

               Interactive whiteboards encourage a very participatory model of instruction.  The funds from this grant would help to purchase a Smart Board for the library.

 

11.    You Are Now Free to Move About the ClassroomSharlene Kleine – Longfellow Middle School - ($621.70 fully funded)

               This proposal will provide funding for six sets of GO 2.4 Optical Air Mouse and Full-Size Keyboard Suites for use in middle school science classrooms.  These suites will enable both students and teachers to use the computer from anywhere in the classroom.

              

12.    I Can See Clearly NowMelanie Wilkinson – Irving Middle School - ($79.00 fully funded)

               The grant request would fund the purchase of a large projection screen to be used in a math classroom.  This projector screen will be used in conjunction with the integration of technology and would allow all students to be able to view the lessons clearly.

 

13.    The Silver ScreenKevin Chesley – Irving Middle School - ($76.00 fully funded)

               This request is to provide a large projector screen for the classroom. The classroom already has an LCD projector and a screen will enhance the learning experience for the entire class.

 

14.    Keep your hands ON!!!Dondi Thompson and Jimmy Cannon – Alcott Middle School - ($474.10 fully funded)

               Manipulatives will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  Hand on activities help students to make the connection between concrete and abstract concepts.  We will use these hands-on manipulatives to help students understand skills at a deeper level and help build their confidence in mathematics.

 

15.    “POP” ReadingAudrey Gramling – Monroe Elementary - ($310.00 fully funded)

            A desire to read is necessary for students to give their best to learn to read.  Magazines are a great motivator for beginning readers.  This grant will add additional titles and copies of popular magazines for our readers to check out.

 

16.    Micro-WowKristin Hollingsworth – Longfellow Middle School - ($512.00 fully funded)

               A video flex cam will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  The video Flex cam will enable teachers to help students better understand microscope use and the study of microscopic organisms.  This is accomplished by connecting the video flex cam to a microscope and projecting the image on either a television or through the computer onto an overhead screen.

 

17.    Just the FactsBilleta Lee and Cathy Haring – Irving Middle School - ($699.00 fully funded)

               Funding from this grant will be used to purchase a program designed to help students master their math facts.  It is to help make the Math teacher’s job easier, more effective, and to help her reach each and every student in the classroom so they succeed.

 

18.    “Do you see what I see??”Nicole Shobert – Irving Middle School - ($80.00 fully funded)

               Being able to see the board is the first step to learning in a classroom.  The funds from this grant will purchase a screen large enough for every student in the room to be able to see clearly.

 

19.    Traveling Through TimeLori Masters and Jeff Wiseman – Irving Middle School - ($65.70 fully funded)

               Three (3) American and three (3) World history posters will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  These large and colorful posters will encourage curious learners to explore facts about the past.  Both posters will also provide students a unique perspective, not only on what happened when, but where and who was involved.

 

20.    What is . . . .M-A-T-H?Dondi Thompson and Jimmy Cannon – Alcott Middle School - ($780.90 fully funded)

               This grant will be used to purchase America’s favorite game, Jeopardy.  Classroom Jeopardy is a fun and exciting way to reinforce skills already learned in the classroom.

 

21.    A Picture’s Worth 1000 WordsJane Dmytryk, Jane Misialek and Lisa Crooke – Jackson Elementary - ($312.36 fully funded)

               Funding of this grant will provide for a collection of high-quality wordless picture books that will be utilized in lessons designed to support and encourage the reading and language development of elementary students.  Students demonstrating a wide range of reading language skills will benefit from the lessons presented using these books.

 

 

22.    I’ll Take Mathematics for Two HundredTerry Littlejohn and Lorraine Carlton – Norman North High School - ($630.00 fully funded)

               An Electronic Competition System will be purchased with funds from this grant for use in our Algebra Club to compete in “Algebra Bowls” held each month.  This will promote mastery of Algebra skills, increase EOI scores, and encourage enrollment in higher level math courses.

 

23.    The Stronger Book BoxTeresa Lansford – Kennedy Elementary - ($62.00 fully funded)

               Book Boxes are a vital part of our Guided Reading process that gives students a place of their own to keep books that are tailored to their reading instruction level.  By purchasing corrugated fiberboard organizers, students will have a larger, sturdier place for their books.

 

24.    2M + R = Math, Music and ReadingJan Feldt – Kennedy Elementary - ($223.06 fully funded)

               Math uses number patterns, music is a pattern of rhythms, and reading is decoding word patterns.  What could enhance learning skills more than putting the three subjects together using math concept music CDs with big books to track the words of the songs?

 

25.    Crime Does Pay (The Good Guys!)Nicki Watkins – McKinley Elementary - ($432.58 fully funded)

               This project (Crime Fighting Experiment Books) will promote students’ knowledge of science and math in careers and hopefully inspire girls, as well as boys to pursue careers in science.  The unit focuses on life skills that will promote the never ending use of science and math in the real world. 

 

26.    “A True Daily Double”Audra Plummer – McKinley Elementary - ($413.87 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of Classroom Jeopardy! Math Language Arts, and Geography cartridges.  This grant can be used to reinforce curriculum.

 

27.    Change Ahead!Teresa McIntyre – Norman North High School - ($980.85 fully funded)

               Basic knowledge of the atom is difficult to grasp because of its size.  Conductivity testers will be purchased with these funds.  It will give concrete evidence of the subatomic particles and allow students to see what is “unseen”.

 

28.    Handwriting Without TearsSusan Maloney and Janet Usry – Adams Elementary - ($865.75 fully funded)

               Handwriting Without Tears is a project that uses hands-on-materials to strengthen fine motor skills enabling students to improve their handwriting skills while making learning fun.  Handwriting is a major component of a student’s education.

 

29.    F.L.Y. with AirLiners (Focused Learning for Youth)Lajuana Pierce – Whittier Middle School - ($996.00 fully funded)

               AirLiner is a 9” by 12”, interactive, wireless tablet that gives the teacher and the student total computer access from any point in the classroom.  It also allows collaboration between the teacher and student for instant monitoring and assessment during the teaching experience.

 

30.    Eyes on the UniverseEileen Grzybowski – Norman North High School - ($964.00 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of a Meade Dobsonion telescope and five small Exploravision scopes.  The smaller ExporaScope 80s will be available for students to check out for overnight use in their own homes.

 

31.    Projection ScreenJesse White – Norman North High School - ($125.39 fully funded)

               A 6’ by 8’ Projection Screen will be purchased with funds from the grant.  This screen will compliment the LCD Projector that is already hanging from the ceiling.  This will improve the appearance of text that students need to be able to read during presentations.

 

32.    Buckle Down Some MoreRhonda Slatten, Adam Zodrow, and Brenda Wilkins – Alcott Middle School - ($459.70 fully funded)

               This project involves focused intervention in the area of reading at the eighth grade level.  It specifically addresses identified deficits in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and test-taking skills.

 

33.    The Right AngleBilleta Lee – Irving Middle School - ($284.81 fully funded)

               Funding from this grant will be used to purchase class sets of angle rulers that can be used as a ruler, compass or protractor.  Students will be ale to measure objects in inches or centimeters, as well as accurately construct and measure angles, triangles, and other geometric shapes.

 

34.    SUPER READERS and WRITERSFrancisca Jensen – Wilson Elementary - ($933.10 fully funded)

               SUPER READERS and WRITERS is a grant that will supply materials to students which allows them to be creative in their learning processes, while building meaningful skills necessary to be successful individuals in our community.  This grant helps students build on their sight word vocabulary skills, as well as develop their writing skills through discussion and inventive stories created by their classmates and themselves.

 

35.    3-D Shapes in My HandSachi Hocker – McKinley Elementary - ($217.15 fully funded)

               The use of 3-D shapes in the classroom allows for students to be able to kinesthetically explore math concepts, such as creating/describing patterns, sorting by attributes, and identifying shapes.  It gives young students a concrete object to hold as they learn abstract ideas.

 

36.    Economic IntrosTeryle Dionisio, Madeline Chapman, and Becky Dyson – Roosevelt Elementary - ($199.95 fully funded)

               Economic Intros will add eight economic DVDs to enhance our third grade Mini-societies unit to help students understand that people work to earn money and then make decisions on how to spend money based on needs and wants.  These DVDs will compare and contrast goods and services, as well as give the students a broad introductory overview of the third grade economic standards.

 

37.    Does it add up for middle school math?Jimmy Cannon and Dondi Thompson – Alcott Middle School - ($303.50 fully funded)

               This grant will be used to purchase calculators for the entire 7th grade.  The calculators will enable students to explore new concepts with the aid of technology.

 

38.    Don’t Cry: It’s Just CursiveAbby Smith – Kennedy Elementary - ($430.00 fully funded)

               Teaching cursive is a part of the third grade PASS curriculum and is also an important skill for students to acquire.  Using the curriculum Handwriting Without Tears, will help students to develop this skill without feeling discouraged, but feeling successful.

 

39.    Go Figure!Gail Richardson – Longfellow Middle School - ($497.80 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of a class set of scientific calculators (30) and an overhead calculator for the teacher to use for demonstrations.  Calculators will be used as a tool in problem solving in order for students to focus on the problem and not the calculations where errors commonly occur.

 

40.    Math Skill and Drill That WorksMaureen Goldsberry – Adams Elementary - ($894.80 fully funded)

               Solid educational computer programs will be purchased that will focus on the mastery of specific math curriculum objectives for use on our classroom computers.  These programs will meet the needs of our students by drilling them on necessary math skills in an engaging manner.

 

41.    Look, Listen and Read Great Books!GariAnn Jacobs – Jefferson Elementary - ($387.26 fully funded)

               Look, Listen, and Read Great Books supports the Oklahoma State Pass objectives in Reading and Language Arts.  The grant funds will provide a variety of leveled books and tapes to be used in our school classroom listening centers.

 

42.    When Ideas Are Flying, You Need An AirlinerEllen Cole – Whittier Middle School - ($529.00 fully funded)

               An Airliner is a hand-held computer device that allows the teacher (or students) to put data into the computer from anywhere in the classroom as it is projected for all students to see.  Discussion and ideas can be noted and worked on and saved on the computer and referred to when needed.

 

43.    Got calculators?Twyla Hart – Norman North High School - ($800.00 fully funded)

               This grant will provide funds to purchase graphing calculators in order to update current technology needs.  Graphing calculators are useful to help students see mathematical relationships unavailable through regular time-consuming paper and pencil routines.

 

44.    Projection ConnectionGayla Mears – Irving Middle School - ($959.34 fully funded)

               A projection system will be purchased to enrich the teaching strategies needed to reach the interactive and visual learning styles of today’s adolescent.

 

45.    Don’t Brush Us OffDan Harris – Irving Middle School - ($248.00 fully funded)

               Flat and round paint brushed will be purchased with this grant.  The brushes can be used with multiple mediums such as watercolor and acrylics.

 

46.    Picture the PastLeigh Robson – Lakeview Elementary School - ($389.35 fully funded)

               Classroom sets of maps and geographical activities that students may complete and keep as a permanent project will be purchased with funds from this grant.  Each set highlights an important historical event in U.S. History.

 

47.    Music and Reading Create Beautiful HarmonyRegina Bell – Cleveland Elementary - ($368.04 fully funded)

               This proposal is for the purchase of children’s literature to be used in the music classroom.  Using books not only encourages reading, but enhances musical creativity.

 

48.    Thinkin’ ScienceLeslie Liesenfeld – McKinley Elementary - ($594.00 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of a license for 25 computers allowing our students to use Thinkin’ Science software that develops skills in scientific thinking.

 

49.    It Remains To Be Seen: Sherlock Bones Take IIJennifer Shaw – Norman High School - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

            The Sherlock Bones Identification of Skeletal Remains Activity funded by this grant will challenge students to use their observational and mathematical skills to analyze the included life-like and to-scale skeletal remains of an unknown subject.  This activity, familiarizing students with actual techniques used in Forensic Science, teaches students how to determine mathematically the gender, height, race, and approximate age of a skeleton at the age of expiration.

 

50.    Check 1, 2, 3, CheckJudith Blake – Norman High School - ($169.50 fully funded)

               Saving time, video tape expense and camera wear and tear can be done with the new technology of a USB microphone.  This microphone allows students to record voice over or narration directly into the computer and onto their video editing program.

 

51.    English Magnified!Patricia McDaniels – Norman North High School - ($817.97 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of a video projector.  This will enable all students, no matter where they sit in the classroom, to see PowerPoint presentations.

 

52.    “Kids in a Candy Store”Jeff Wiseman – Irving Middle School - ($959.34 fully funded)

               By incorporating an LCD projector into a Geography and U.S. History classroom, students will be able to experience a wide variety of learning strategies and resources.  The large visual format, along with presentation software and interactive instruction, guarantee student involvement and motivation.

 

53.    Tools For A High-Tech ToolboxLori Masters – Irving Middle School - ($959.34 fully funded)

               The addition of an LCD projector into a social studies classroom will keep students engaged in learning while addressing the curriculum in a new way.  The multimedia projector will open the door to a variety of resources and activities designed to encourage students to excel academically.

 

54.    Let’s Read and Learn at HomeAmy Langenbach – Kennedy Elementary - ($538.50 fully funded)

               A variety of high-interest, leveled reading books and activity sheets will be made available for 2nd grade students to take home for reading comprehension and fluency practice.  The books will correspond directly to the student’s guided reading level and will be appropriately adjusted as the student progresses.

 

55.    Easy as 1-2-3Teresa Lansford – Kennedy Elementary - ($104.00 fully funded)

               White board slate assessment is vital part of our math curriculum.  By purchasing “Kwik Chek” hand held dry erase boards, assessment could focus on the students’ answers and less on the cumbersome management of a large slate.

 

56.    Learning in an INSTANT!Audra Plummer – McKinley Elementary - ($342.70 fully funded)

               This grant would fund language instant learning centers.  These centers introduce and reinforce essential skills needed for reading development.

 

57.    Handwriting Without TearsSusan Maloney, Theresa French, and Judy Steiner – Adams Elementary - ($393.75 fully funded)

               Handwriting Without Tears is a project that uses hands-on materials to strengthen fine motor skills enabling students to improve their handwriting skills while making learning fun.  Handwriting is a major component of a student’s education.

 

58.    Digital English NotesPatricia McDaniels – Norman North High School - ($220.00 fully funded)

               Ever hear, “What did we do in class yesterday?  I was absent.”  Well, now instead of having to write out the notes from the lecture, you can easily print out your notes through your DigiMemo.

 

59.    Make History Come AliveCharles Redman – Norman North High School - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

               An LCD projector will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  Teaching using this technology allows for more creativity and diversity in lessons, and raises the motivation for students to learn.

 

60.    Is That Your Final Answer?Maren Eliason – Irving Middle School - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

               PowerPoint is a classroom titan – a powerful way to present information to students.  Adding a Turning Point Classroom Response System to PowerPoint puts a response remote in students’ hands, giving them a powerful way to respond to teachers, and it gives teachers an up to the minute evaluation tool to make sure students understand the information being conveyed.

 

61.    No Strings AttachedCarrie Lowe – Irving Middle School - ($335.00 fully funded)

               The Airliner wireless slate allows a teacher to use a computer and projector from any location in the classroom.  With the purchase of this wireless device, students would be provided with an interactive learning environment, individualized instructions, and immediate feedback.

 

62.    Practice Makes Perfect But Not With A CassettePamela Matlick, Allison Goodnight, Steve Waddell, and Art Lantagne – Longfellow Middle School - ($750.00 fully funded)

               Modern equipment will be used to record directly through a microphone to a CD, thus providing practice, rehearsal and performance CDs for student use in the classroom and at home.  Current technology will make it possible to transpose keys without changing the temp, slow down the tempo without changing the key, and silencing vocals from CDs during play back so they may be used as accompaniments.

 

63.    Problem Solved!Michale Gentry – Madison Elementary - ($202.34 fully funded)

               Solving problems can be a problem in the classroom for teachers and students alike.  These hands-on problem solving materials help engage students in learning and applying problem solving skills to get the job done.

 

64.    The Butcher, the Baker, the LUB DUB MakerCarol Harris – Whittier Middle School - ($715.00 fully funded)

               Three (3) sets of stethoscopes will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  Students can use these in the classroom when the teacher is teaching the body system.  An Electronic Stethoscope for the teachers to share, to allow students to learn the sounds they should be listening for.

 

65.    “Let’s Take a Look”Twyla Hart – Norman North High School - ($1,000.00 fully funded)

               “Let’s Take a Look” requests funds to purchase a video projector and ceiling mount for the classroom.  This technology will allow the teacher to show mathematical applications to the students and also demonstrate geometrical relationships made possible through “Geometer’s Sketchpad.”

 

66.    That’s Music to Our Ears!Jeanne Lucas, Jim Shelley, Ryan McKinney, and Brenda Wilkins – Alcott Middle School - ($555.35 fully funded)

               Although state legislation requires the assessment of general music standards for all students in grades 3 through 8, only 65% of our school’s students have been exposed to any formal music training other than their elementary music curriculum.  Funding would allow the purchase of materials to integrate basic music curriculum into the advisory classes, making music literacy possible for all students.

 

67.    “Windows On The World”Margaret Brown – Irving Middle School - ($959.34 fully funded)

               An LCD projector will be purchased with the funds from this grant.  It will open a large window on the world for social studies students.  Visual presentations and current online resources presented to the class will bring real world learning to our students.

 

68.    Guiding Independence during Guided ReadingJan Feldt – Kennedy Elementary - ($441.32 fully funded)

               What do you do with the other 15 five year olds while you’re teaching a guided reading group with 5 students?  This grant provides a plan and materials using a “background group” to enable the teacher to, in effect, teach two guided reading groups at once AND keep the remaining 10 students involved in independent center activities.

 

69.    Reading Around the Room and Beyond!Michale Gentry – Madison Elementary - ($575.00 fully funded)

               Students will love these hands-on instant reading centers designed to encourage and reinforce reading skills packaged in durable centers.  As students work on their skill level in reading centers around the room, the teacher will be able to work with individuals and small groups for targeted reading instruction, capitalizing on their interest and capturing teachable moments as they interact with the centers.

 

70.    You Are My SunshineJohnnie Keel – Truman Elementary - ($319.80 fully funded)

               You are My Sunshine will provide an indoor plant and insect center for students and teachers.  Students will be engaged in hands-on science enrichment ensuring year-round growing success and insect observations during any season.

 

71.    Math That Moves Us!Jessica Jameson – Madison Elementary - ($298.00 fully funded)

               Math Instant Learning Centers make independent math practice a snap!  Math skills are reinforced through independent, hands-on learning fun!

 

72.    “Two Scoops of FUN!”Audra Plummer – McKinley Elementary - ($755.95 fully funded)

               This grant will fund the purchase of a network license allowing our whole school to have access to Ice Cream Truck! Mathematics software develops skills in all math operations, as well as problem solving and decision making.

 

73.    The Impact of MediaFred Avery – Norman North High School - ($830.00 fully funded)

               One instructional goal in Media is to make students aware of different types of media production, both video and computer.  This grant will be used to fund an LCD projector so that students can view and learn from different types of media.

 

74.    Trendy Technology ToolsJessica Jameson and Mary Neff – Madison Elementary - ($199.94 fully funded)

               The wireless remote presenter will make it easier to present a lesson using the PowerPoint program and the Interwrite.  These technology tools will help enhance PowerPoint presentations and assist in saving and utilizing information.

 

75.    Object of the Game: Reading ComprehensionBecky Dyson, Madeline Chapman, and Teryle Dionisio – Roosevelt Elementary - ($291.18 fully funded)

               The object of these games is Reading Comprehension.  Students will build essential reading skills, such as making inferences and drawing conclusions, through 12 fun and interesting reading comprehension board games.  Students will play the games during guided reading and reading comprehension board games.  Students will play the games during guided reading and reading workshop to address specific reading skills based on individual student needs.

 

76.    Magical MagnetsDanna Primm – Truman Elementary - ($127.58 fully funded)

               The teacher will be able to provide small groups of children a way to build three dimensional sculptures while discovering the mysteries of magnets.

 

77.    Early Childhood PhysicsDanna Primm – Truman Elementary - ($63.13 fully funded)

               Young children need a variety of objects with which they can experiment and manipulate.  Basic principals of physics can be established as they build and rebuild pipe sculptures or observe a marble rolling through a tubular track they constructed on their own.

 

78.    Student, Student, What Do You Spy?Francisca Jensen – Wilson Elementary - ($500.00 partially funded; $952.50 requested)

               This grant will allow students to engage in fun and creative activities through the richly illustrated books that promote communication.  These books are familiar texts that help students utilize their imagination and verbal skills.

 

79.    Sing and Play, Play and Sing !!Linda Bibb – Cleveland Elementary - ($109.95 fully funded)

               John Feierabend’s nine “Books of . . .” song collections contain a treasure trove of traditional music, movement, and language experiences for children.  John Feierabend has spent decades compiling the best of tunes, rhymes, and stories that encourage imagination and participation, and form the basis for future learning, as well as preserving our musical heritage.

 

80.    Name Your World—One Poem at a TimeShayna Kutt – Norman High School - ($429.00 fully funded)

               Nancie Atwell’s “Naming the World” provides mini-lessons for English II teachers to begin each class with a poem which will enhance critical thinking skills, writing skills, grammar and punctuation skills, as well as students’ own ideas about the world they live in.  Poetry can help our English II students ultimately perform better on their End of Instruction tests while providing them successful experiences in mastering—and naming—their own world of language.

 

81.    Successful StorytellersHeather Wheeler – Lincoln Elementary - ($391.72 fully funded)

               A storytelling board and storytelling kits will be funded with this grant.  The storytelling board and kits will further promote positive literacy experiences in young children that allow them to be successful readers and writers in the future.

 

82.    Founding Fathers and Other Famous FiguresSandra Dansby, Tiffany Gray, and Brad Talley – Jackson Elementary - ($707.50 fully funded)

               This proposal will fund sets of books on historically significant figures that will be used in three fifth grade classrooms.  These books will have a dual purpose – to be used in Social Studies and to be used as literature in a guided reading setting.
